Press release, Luleå, 8 February 2023: Försäkringskassan (The Swedish Social Insurances Services) has chosen Data Ductus as the prime supplier of IT consulting services in northern Sweden. The framework agreement runs for an initial two years with the option for an additional two-year extension, with a value of up to SEK 200 million. Luleå-based BnearIT, which has been part of Data Ductus since since March 2022, will deliver the services. About 40 new recruits will be employed at BnearIT.
The framework agreement includes consulting services for, among other things, system development, IT architecture, and project management for the Försäkringskassan’s operations located in the northern cities of Luleå and Kalix.
“We are extremely proud to have won this deal against tough competition from some of the larger and more established IT consulting companies in the country,” says Olov Stenberg, Sales Manager at BnearIT. “Thanks to the merger with Data Ductus last spring, we now have a greater capacity to deliver services locally.”
BnearIT currently has about 40 employees and, thanks to this agreement, will have to recruit about as many more.
“Attracting talented people to the company is something we actively work at BnearIT,” says Ida Ek, Consultant Manager at BnearIT. “It’s important to be able to offer interesting and evolving assignments. We will definitely be able to do that with the new deal in place. A long-term contract with a government agency also makes us a secure employer now that the economy may enter into a recession.”
The framework agreement supports the use junior developers who can grow their skills as a part of service delivery.
“This shows that Försäkringskassan understands the importance of developing local skills and talents and that they are prepared to take on responsibility for retaining competence in the north. We have a good collaboration with Luleå Technical University and, through this contract, we hope to be able to recruit, teach and persuade students to stay in Luleå,” concludes Ida Ek.
The framework agreement began on 1 February 2023.
