LKAB signs a new three-year IT support agreement with Data Ductus

Press release, Skellefteå, 16 November 2022: Data Ductus has been awarded a new three-year service desk agreement with an option for a one-year extension. With this contract, LKAB has shown renewed and expanded trust in Data Ductus to manage its local and international service desk operations.

When Swedish mining company LKAB recently launched a new tender, they sought a provider who could offer efficient and reliable management of their IT support function. They elected to go with their existing provider Data Ductus, who had already been running the LKAB service desk for several years.

“We put renewed confidence in Data Ductus,” says Rory Wikman, Head of Corporate IT at LKAB. “Over our years of cooperation, they have shown a good understanding of our business and its complexities and have always acted professionally and responsibly.”

The new agreement came into force on November 1st and, as agreed in the contract, service desk staffing levels will be increased.

“LKAB is a company with lofty ambitions,” according to Urban Lundmark, Client Manager at Data Ductus. “Continuing to develop our service desk delivery with LKAB is both an exciting and challenging prospect, especially as it will contribute to their continued success.”

Data Ductus has already begun strengthening its team with new members to meet the needs of the agreement. “We have recruited talented people with relevant skills at LKAB home base in Kiruna, northern Sweden, and I expect us to increase the head count further as we move forward,” concludes Lundmark.
